Set to be completed in 2022, Hermes UK has invested around €69 million to construct a high-performance site in Barnsley, which will become the largest distribution centre in Europe and be able to process 1.3 million shipments per day.

Delivering on sustainability

Fully in keeping with the holding company’s target of becoming climate-neutral by 2030, Hermes are committed to investing in alternative driving systems. For example, the entire fleet in London is now made up of electric vehicles. They have also installed 800 locker stations, which has made Hermes the first parcel delivery service to provide a combined service portfolio of home delivery, ParcelShop and locker station solutions.
