Summary: This quarter’s Starshipit update brings a faster, more flexible interface, Barry the AI assistant and Quotes before an order exists. Starshipit WMS also adds more integrations, automation and reporting, alongside a SOC 2 Type 1 security milestone.
Slow shipping and fulfilment workflows cost more than time.
Every extra click, manual check and screen switch can lead to delayed orders, avoidable mistakes and more pressure on your team.
With peak around the corner, we’ve focused this quarter on making Starshipit faster, cleaner and easier to move through, so your team has more control when order volumes rise.
That means a faster Starshipit experience, a simpler way to quote shipping before an order exists, and a stack of WMS upgrades.
Here’s what’s new:
- New UI: A faster, cleaner way to work in Starshipit
- Meet Barry: your new AI assistant is ready to help
- Quotes tool: check shipping costs before an order exists
- WMS: 10 connected systems, more automation and 16 reporting views
- SOC 2 Type 1: another step forward in security and trust
Let’s get into it.
A faster, cleaner way to work in Starshipit
Shipping gets easier when the tools your team use every day are fast, clear and easy to work in.
That’s what we’ve been working on: making Starshipit faster, more responsive and easier to shape around the way your team works, while keeping the shipping workflows you already know.
And we’ve brought over some of the features you’ve been missing from Classic, too.
Using Classic UI? We know some of you are diehard fans.
Over time, different Starshipit interfaces have had different things going for them. Some workflows worked better in Classic, while newer features and improvements have been built into the newer experience.
So, we’ve been bringing more of those strengths together. Keeping the workflows that work, improving the ones that don’t, and giving you one faster, cleaner place to get the job done.
Make Starshipit work your way
Your workspace should work around your team, not the other way around.
You can now:
- Choose between light and dark mode
- Adjust your zoom
- Hide menu items you don’t use
- Choose which saved view opens by default in the Orders Grid
- View up to 500 orders per page
- Manage the optional Enter-to-print shortcut from your Interface settings
So, you can keep the things you need close at hand and get rid of the things you don’t.

Meet Barry, your AI assistant in Starshipit
There’s also a new face in the platform.
Meet Barry, your new AI assistant in Starshipit you can turn to when you need a hand.
He can answer questions, help you find your way around and use tools to help get things set up for you.
Need help setting up checkout rates? Looking for a field in Product Catalogue? Not sure where something lives? Just ask Barry.
Get through orders faster
We’ve also made some everyday order management workflows quicker to navigate.
Key information, including carriers and rates, now sit higher on the Order details page, so you can see what you need with less scrolling. You can collapse Items and Packages when you don’t need them, see the order ID in your browser tab when working across multiple orders and correct invalid addresses directly from the order.
You can also search for couriers, integrations, report types and more instead of scrolling through long lists.
Less hunting around, fewer clicks and more time getting orders out the door.
Quote shipping before there’s an order
One of the features we’ve brought across from Classic is a better way to check shipping rates before an order exists.
Some customers regularly quote shipping over the phone, by email or for bespoke orders. Previously, if you were using UI 2.0, you had to create and save an order just to check the available rates.
You can find it in the main navigation under Quotes. Enter your destination and package details and compare available carrier rates without creating an order.
You can use saved packages, quote multiple packages, see recent quotes and create an order directly from the quote if it turns into a sale.
It’s a much cleaner way to answer one simple question: “What will this cost to ship?”
And there’s more
There are plenty of smaller improvements tucked into the updated experience, too.
You can create sample orders to test your order and printing workflows without using live orders. Rules can be reordered with drag and drop or keyboard controls. Pages adapt better across different screen sizes, and you can search packing slip and packing summary variables rather than hunting through long lists.
Some familiar controls have moved too. Column order is now managed from the column options menu within the Orders Grid, while Compact and Expanded layouts can be managed from Settings > Interface.
The updated experience is already rolling out to customers using UI 2.0. You don’t need to do anything. We’ll move your account as part of the rollout.
Want to move sooner? Visit next.starshipit.com, go to Settings > Interface, set UI version to New UI and New UI version to UI 2.5 (recommended), then click Save.
WMS has been cooking up a storm
Starshipit WMS has been busy.
While WMS customers get the full monthly rundown, we’ve pulled out three things that have been growing quickly: the number of systems you can connect, the amount of warehouse work you can automate and the visibility you have across your operation.
Connect WMS to the systems you already use
We know integrations are a big part of choosing the right WMS. Starshipit WMS now connects with 10 systems across ecommerce, inventory and ERP, helping you keep orders, products and inventory accurate and in sync across your connected channels.
That includes Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce, Cin7 Core, Cin7 Omni, Unleashed, MYOB Acumatica, NetSuite and eBay. And we’re keeping the list growing, with more integrations on the way.
Put your warehouse work on autopilot
Warehouse teams make hundreds of small decisions every day.
Which orders should be held? Which jobs are ready to move? What should be batched together?
WMS automation lets you turn more of those decisions into rules, with recent updates covering order holds, tag-based workflows and automatic batching.
That means less manual checking and fewer repetitive decisions, freeing your team to focus on the work that actually needs their attention.
See what’s slowing your warehouse down
When things get busy, knowing where the problem is matters just as much as knowing there is one.
WMS now gives you 16 reporting views across fulfilment, stock health, replenishment, space, shipping costs and staff performance.
Recent additions including Backlog & WIP Aging, Slotting & Utilisation and Shipping Economics give you even more ways to spot bottlenecks, understand your space and keep an eye on costs.
Curious what WMS could do for your operation? Log in to Starshipit and head to the Warehouse tab to activate your trial.
Starshipit is now SOC 2 Type 1 compliant
We’ve been working behind the scenes on something that doesn’t come with a shiny new button, but is pretty important: SOC 2 Type 1 compliance.
SOC 2 is an independent assessment of the controls we have in place to protect customer data and manage security. As more businesses rely on Starshipit, it’s important that you can trust those controls. SOC 2 gives you independent assurance that we’re doing what we say we do.
After putting our policies, processes and controls through an independent audit, we’ve now achieved SOC 2 Type 1 compliance.
It’s an important milestone for Starshipit and another step in building a platform you can rely on.
Next stop: SOC 2 Type 2.
This might be the end of this update, but there’s plenty more where that came from
Would you believe this update only covers the highlights? There’s plenty more happening across Starshipit, from smaller workflow improvements and carrier updates to new integrations, ongoing WMS development and more behind-the-scenes work.
From a faster, cleaner Starshipit experience and easier quoting to a growing list of WMS integrations and enhancements, smarter warehouse workflows, new carrier integrations and another step forward in security, there’s a lot moving across the platform.
Oh, and before we forget, the Starshipit changelog has moved to a new home: support.starshipit.com/changelog
We’ll keep sharing the latest product updates and improvements there, so you can see what’s new as it ships.
See you back here next quarter.
